Who we are:
Slow Food Upper Columbia is a chapter of Slow Food USA, a non-profit, member-supported educational group that envisions a future food system based on the principles of high quality and taste, environmental sustainability, and social justice: GOOD, CLEAN and FAIR
What we do:
We support the following programs through events, campaigns and fund raising efforts that serve to galvanize our chapter/convivium and enable our contribution to:
- Preserving traditional and endangered foods of our region and nation.
- Experiencing the cultural and regional significance of our foods by educating ourselves about where our food comes from.
- Fostering regional food production that is GOOD, CLEAN and FAIR.
- Celebrating life, joy and friendship through the pleasures of eating with others at the table.
Slow Food Upper Columbia is located in northeastern Washington state, where the Columbia River enters the United States from Canada. Colville is the county seat.
